FAQ

What should I expect from my first session?

During your initial session, we will:

  • Gain an understanding of your issues of concern
  • Establish if counselling, psychotherapy or parenting support would be helpful to you
  • Identify your goals
  • Look at the duration and frequency of therapy or parenting support
  • Discuss how best we can work together, looking at issues such as confidentiality, record-keeping, information retention, etc.

How many sessions will I need?

There is no single answer to this question. It is really dependent on what issues you are experiencing. This will be explored further in your first session. Often, it is agreed to work together for about four to six sessions and then review goals, and whether to continue further.

How long do sessions last?

Sessions are of 60 to 90 minute duration. The average counselling session is of 60 minute duration. Some parenting support work e.g., NVR, can require a 90 minute session.

How much does it cost?

Fees are €60-€100. Sessions are charged according to the service provided and the duration of the sessions. Concessions are available upon request e.g. unwaged or student. Please contact Fiona for further details.

Is the Service completely confidential?

Inniu commits to providing a confidential service. However, this confidentiality, by legal requirement under the Children’s First Act 2018, cannot be absolute. This will be discussed further in your initial session.

Do you offer online counselling?

Yes. It is possible to avail of online counselling and parenting support via Skype. Please contact Fiona to discuss the options available.
