Fiona Martin-Peelo is a qualified social worker and psychotherapist, registered with CORU and fully accredited with IACP. Fiona has over twenty years experience working with children, young people and adults both in a community-based social work setting and a therapeutic support service for children and families.
For the past seven years, Fiona has worked as a guest lecturer for the UCD School of Social Policy, Social Work and Social Justice. In addition, Fiona is a tutor for Capacitar Ireland, an international organisation, which teaches simple body-based wellness and mindfulness practices to help manage stress and trauma, and promote wellbeing.
Fiona has a background in Jungian Sandtray Therapy. Fiona has training in numerous strengths-based and solution-focused parenting programmes. In 2016, Fiona trained with Dr. Declan Coogan (NUIG) in the Non-Violent Resistance programme, which addresses child-to-parent violence and aggression. Taking a person-centred and humanistic approach to her work, Fiona incorporates creative elements such as art therapy, mindfulness, body-based approaches and sand tray into her work, as appropriate.
Fiona is a mother to two young children, who, of course, are her greatest teachers!
